The Office of the Commissioner for Missing Persons once again emphasizes that the state does not charge families for the return of bodies or exchange of prisoners.
We urge people not to transfer money to scammers who profit from other people’s grief.
If someone offers you to return a body for a reward, immediately contact the National Police.
“The return of bodies and exchanges of prisoners of war are handled by the relevant government agencies. Scammers who hide behind volunteer activities and demand money for the exchange or transfer of bodies must be punished in accordance with the current legislation,” said Oleh Kotenko, the Commissioner for Missing Persons.
We are reminding that the searchers of the Commissioner ‘s Office have undergone training in first aid.
