In January, the hotlines of the Ministry of Reintegration began to receive numerous appeals from internally displaced persons who did not receive payments of housing assistance in January.
The issue was raised at a specially organized meeting chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
It turned out that about 400,000 IDPs did not receive assistance payments for January due to underfunding of the relevant budget program.
The problem was promptly resolved by joint efforts of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Finance. The amount of payments for January was increased by almost UAH 1.3 billion.
“We heard and reacted. This is what we have to do. I am grateful to everyone who contributed to solving the problem. In particular, the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Finance. Several hundred thousand people were finally able to receive financial assistance from the state. I’m calling on you to continue to closely monitor the signals from people,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
