The Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories is initiating new solutions to promptly provide internally displaced persons with the basic necessities, said Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk during the presentation of the draft State Policy Strategy on Internal Displacement until 2025.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has been gaining new experience with IDPs, whose number is unprecedented. The needs of IDPs are and will remain at the forefront of government priorities, the official emphasized.

To ensure effective support for IDPs and their integration into a new life, a draft Strategy of State Policy on Internal Displacement has been developed, which focuses on the needs of each individual.

“The new Strategy is based on people. Hosting communities should solve the problems of IDPs promptly and on the spot, without taking them to the state level. Communities should create all possible conditions for comfortable living and socio-economic adaptation of internally displaced persons. People who were forced to move should strive to integrate at their new place of residence,” Iryna Vereshchuk voiced the key tasks.
