The field operational teams of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention formed in Mykolaiv region will monitor the epidemic in the Kherson region’s flooded areas.

This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

To prevent disease outbreaks, specialists will provide residents of the flooded areas with disinfectants for water and surfaces in private homes that have been flooded.

For this purpose, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions have prepared a stock of tablets for disinfecting drinking water. This will be enough to provide for the residents of Kherson region for at least several months.

In addition, an infectious disease hub has been set up at a hospital in Mykolaiv Oblast to treat patients with acute intestinal and other infectious diseases.

Currently, experts from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention are testing water from surface water bodies, wells, boreholes, and

centralized water supply systems.

According to the latest data, surface water has a significant excess of microbiological indicators, so it is prohibited to use such water for household needs, food processing, and swimming in such water.
