Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk chaired a meeting on prosthetics for military personnel and veterans.

Representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Veterans, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Defense, the State Migration Service, the State Border Guard Service, heads of the newly established Coordination and Advisory Centers for Population Support at the Regional Military Administration, as well as representatives of international organizations, attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on the issue of accelerating the process of prosthetics for military personnel. To receive a prosthesis, the military must go through a series of bureaucratic processes. In particular, to obtain a document that defines the circumstances under which the limb was lost.

In addition, they focused on assisting war veterans who had already received prosthetic limbs abroad and returned to Ukraine.

They also discussed the issue of creating a unified protocol for providing psychological assistance to wounded and discharged soldiers.

The Vice Prime Minister called for coordination among agencies to develop standards for creating such a document. This is because psychological rehabilitation is an integral part of the active reintegration of a veteran into society.

“The physical and social recovery of servicemen and veterans remains one of the state’s priorities. Prosthetics are an important part of their successful rehabilitation,” summarizes Iryna Vereshchuk.
