Recently, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine to Solve Certain Issues of the Administrative and Territorial Structure of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea”. The Representative Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea informs about it.
In particular, it involves renaming some settlements and districts in the ARC and Sevastopol. The government has also determined the territories and administrative centers of the territorial communities in the ARC.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers should establish district military administrations in new districts.
In this way, the executive authorities will be able to plan the restoration of their territorial units, taking into account the new administrative and territorial structure of the peninsula.
Adopting this law will make it easier for Ukrainian authorities to resume work in Crimea after the occupation.
