Under the “Housing Repair for People’s Empowerment Project”, more than 100 thousand Ukrainian families will be able to receive assistance in repairing housing damaged as of the full-scale invasion. The World Bank’s website reports.
The funds will be used to make repairs, such as replacing windows and repairing the roof. The project will rehabilitate approximately 98,000 houses and 8,000 apartments in five regions.
According to the World Bank, the war in Ukraine has affected approximately 1.4 million homes. 3.5 million people live in these homes. The total cost of the damage is estimated at more than $50 billion.
The project is designed to help restore about two-thirds of the damaged houses in our country that are considered suitable for repair.
