This was the subject of a meeting of the Coordination Center for the Protection of Children’s Rights under Martial Law. Vice Prime Minister Vereshchuk led the meeting.  

Representatives from the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kyiv City Military Administration, the National Social Service, regional military administrations, and other interested parties attended the meeting. 

During the meeting, they talked about the status of children who were evacuated and are currently staying in Italy. They also explored the possibility of bringing them back to Ukraine.  

Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk considers this issue to be of particular importance. It concerns the youngest citizens of our country. 

The participants in the meeting stressed the importance of addressing the matter of foster care as a priority. All actions must follow Ukrainian law and be coordinated by the National Social Service. 

It was proposed to create a working group to carry out monitoring visits to countries where Ukrainian children are currently staying. The main focus is on Italy.
