Pro-Russian social media users try to discredit asylum seekers from Ukraine. They spread russian propaganda on European media platforms designed to aid and assist Ukrainians overseas.

Experts from the Institute of Mass Information (IMI) came to this conclusion after analyzing posts on Facebook, Telegram, and YouTube.

The spread of pro-russian stories aims to make EU citizens have a bad opinion of Ukrainians and to reduce or stop Western assistance to Ukraine.

IMI experts advise Ukrainians to counter Russian propaganda actively, namely by:

– improve their own media literacy;
– not respond to provocative posts and comments;
– do not forget to warn the community if you find russian narratives in your posts.
