This is a story about a family with a baby and three other small children in their arms who have been trying to get to government-controlled territory since the beginning of the temporary occupation of Kherson region.
The russians prevented them from leaving the occupation in their car. Eventually, the family decided to return after their unsuccessful attempts. The decision they made saved their lives. When they got back, they found out that the group of vehicles they were traveling with had been attacked.
Living under Russian control in the Kherson area was incredibly tough for the family. So we requested assistance from the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
The family went back to the part of Ukraine controlled by the government thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Reintegration and the Ukrainian Network for the Rights of the Child.
Now the family is living with relatives in Ivano-Frankivsk. They plan to adapt and start a new life in a new place. Parents are currently searching for a school and a kindergarten for their children.
