In early December, Kharkiv RMA identified 21 priority communities to receive firewood. In total, there are 18,046 households at risk in these communities.
On December 6, a special meeting chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk was held to discuss the supply of firewood to frontline communities in Kharkiv region.
During the discussions, international humanitarian actors confirmed their willingness to meet the solid fuel needs of 15,627 households.
In particular, it includes the provision of various types of solid fuels: firewood, coal, briquettes, firewood, and pellets. It also includes cash assistance.
Another 2,149 households are expected to be covered using local budgets.
At present, work is underway to provide for the firewood needs of six communities in the second phase from the front-line areas of Kharkiv region.
