Human rights activists have identified over 9,000 cases since 2017. Nearly 6,400 of these cases were against representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. The Crimean Tatar Resource Center reported this.

Since the occupation of the peninsula in 2014, the human rights situation has not improved. The aggressor country continues to repress and pressure Crimean Tatars and pro-Ukrainian activists.

Human rights defenders often record violations during arrests, interrogations, and court hearings. Detainees’ right to maintain their health is frequently restricted.
