A residential apartment complex will be built this year for internally displaced persons who have taken refuge in Zhytomyr. The Zhytomyr City Council press service reported.

The European Union-funded ‘Housing for IDPs and Reconstruction of Liberated Cities in Ukraine’ program, managed by the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO), will construct four multi-story buildings containing 116 apartments.

Over 400 internally displaced persons will receive free apartments

The project includes the construction of four 4-story buildings, installation of necessary utilities, and landscaping. One of the buildings will have a shelter in the basement to accommodate residents if necessary.

The apartments will have one or two bedrooms. The price includes interior decoration, furnishings, and household appliances. Additionally, all first-floor apartments are designed to be accessible for people with limited mobility.

Residents within the neighborhood will have access to parking spaces, a children’s playground, and recreation areas.
