The Embassy of Ukraine in Bulgaria has announced that the period of temporary protection in Bulgaria has been extended until March 4, 2025.
On January 25 of this year, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria made the relevant decision.
The decision contains an amendment. It applies to stateless persons and citizens of other states who legally resided in Ukraine before February 24, 2022, and have a valid residence permit in the country.
If these individuals cannot safely return to their home country or region, they have the right to temporary protection. They can register for this protection in the same way as Ukrainian citizens and their family members.
The State Agency for Refugees of Bulgaria will provide information on the dates and locations for re-registering the extension of the validity of temporary protection cards for Ukrainians who already have this status in Bulgaria.
