As part of the ‘Shelter’ project, over 84 thousand homeowners who provided free accommodation to internally displaced persons were compensated a total of 98.8 million UAH for December 2023.

The “Shelter” program provides compensation to homeowners of approximately 450 UAH per month (14.77 UAH per day) for housing an IDP.

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society paid for these December payments. From January of this year, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) will fund compensation under an agreement signed with the Ministry of Reintegration.

The ‘Shelter’ project paid a total of UAH 2.47 billion in compensation in 2023.

The Ministry of Reintegration was entrusted with implementing this project by the Government’s resolution.
