Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said this during a live broadcast on Rada TV. She mentioned three international technical assistance projects on housing, coordinated by the Ministry of Reintegration.

The construction and reconstruction of housing is the first step. The housing will be available for long-term lease at affordable prices. The total cost of this project is €72.1 million. It includes 1,670 apartments that can accommodate approximately 6,000 people.

The second is preferential loans for the purchase of housing at 3 percent per annum. In 2024, the program plans to provide 425 loans worth €17 million, with a total project budget of €42.5 million.

The third is the construction and rehabilitation of social housing for the temporary settlement of IDPs. It is worth €24.2 million and will provide up to 700 apartments.

The official emphasized that in 2024 the total amount of these projects will be almost €140 million. Up to 10,000 internally displaced persons will be able to live in these 2,800 apartments.

The Vice Prime Minister summarized “We are working with the German government. These projects are successful and require expansion. We ask the governments of partner countries to join us.”
