The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), together with its partner, the Charity Foundation “Angels of Salvation”, has launched a new project called “Workshop on Wheels”. This is stated on the UNHCR website.
The project aims to help war-affected communities. Specifically, to help people repair homes that have been damaged by rocket or drone fire, etc.
Five mobile teams of experienced builders are already working in the Kharkiv region. They provide advice to people who want to repair their homes themselves. They also help vulnerable people remove damaged windows and replace them with new energy-efficient windows provided by UNHCR.
So far, about one hundred families have received such assistance. The project plans to reach 1,500 families in the Kharkiv region annually.
In addition, this initiative will be extended to the Donetsk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhya, and Kherson regions, while increasing the number of mobile teams.
