During a meeting to discuss the implementation of the international technical assistance project ‘Improving the Housing Conditions of IDPs in Eastern Ukraine’, Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized the importance of improving housing conditions for IDPs in Eastern Ukraine.

The task involves rebuilding houses destroyed due to hostilities and constructing new residential buildings and social infrastructure in the regions of Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Chernivtsi. The aim is to provide better living conditions for the people in these areas.

The German Government is providing financial support for this project, with assistance from the Ministry of Reintegration. The German state bank KfW is the financial partner, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the project manager.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the condition of the facilities, the work types, and their implementation timeline. They also discussed pre-construction issues.

In March, Iryna Vereshchuk visited Irpin city and Horenka village in Kyiv Oblast. She monitored the reconstruction processes of houses destroyed due to hostilities.

The Vice Prime Minister stated that round-the-clock communication between the project implementer, the International Organization for Migration, and representatives of the relevant local councils is necessary to complete the construction of housing in the shortest possible time.
