As part of the Shelter project, the total amount of UAH 70 million was allocated for compensation in January 2024. These funds were distributed to over 73,600 homeowners who provided accommodation to internally displaced persons at no cost.
By an agreement signed with the Ministry of Reintegration, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) has funded compensation payments since January of this year.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Reintegration has already transferred the data to UNHCR for the relevant payments for February, amounting to UAH 76 million. These payments will be made to 71,000 individuals who have provided accommodation to IDPs free of charge.
