Deputy Minister Oleksii Bruslyk met with UN Shelter and Non-Food Item Cluster representatives.

The objective was to facilitate collaboration between the Ministry and the international organization to prepare for the 2024/2025 autumn-winter period. In particular, to provide reliable fuel and financial assistance to vulnerable households in communities affected by war.

The Cluster discussed how to respond to the upcoming cold season. They also talked about which regions would get help and how.

Furthermore, the meeting attendees discussed the potential expansion of temporary accommodation facilities in secure regions of the country to accommodate evacuees.

Oleksii Bruslyk underscored the importance of enhancing communication and collaboration between the government, the cluster, and other international humanitarian organizations. In particular, they discussed the algorithm for preparing and involving international partners in meetings chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

“We begin preparations for the cold season well in advance, taking into account the experience of the previous year and drawing appropriate conclusions. This enables us to respond more effectively to the challenges of the next heating season. Regular and close cooperation with international humanitarian organizations is essential to achieve successful results. Together, we will be able to provide Ukrainians affected by the war with the most necessary things to successfully get through the autumn and winter period,” emphasized Oleksiy Bruslyk.
