Today, the government-controlled territory returned the bodies of 212 defenders.
The bodies were repatriated with the support of several key organizations, including the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Ministry of Reintegration, the Commissioner for Missing Persons, and, in cooperation with, the Joint Centre at the SBU, the Central Military Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other law enforcement agencies, departments, and international organizations.
The bodies of fallen soldiers are transferred in line with the Geneva Conventions.
The Ukrainian army will take the bodies and remains to state institutions. Police and forensic experts will identify the victims.
Following the process of identification, the bodies of our fallen colleagues will be transferred to their next-of-kin for appropriate interment.
