Iryna Vereshchuk, the Vice Prime Minister, gave a speech at the event.

The conference was organized by the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Protection of the Rights of IDPs and Victims of Aggression with the support of USAID.

The event is all about bringing together the state and international partners to get financial support for IDPs. The International Organisation for Migration says this is their most urgent need right now.

The Vice Prime Minister thanked everyone involved in the event for their hard work and support in helping displaced people.

She thanked international partners and donors, including USAID, WFP, IOM, UNHCR, UNICEF, etc. These organizations have given USD 2 billion in cash assistance to Ukrainians since the invasion. Half of this has gone to support IDPs.

Financial support is a quick, simple, and flexible way to help people in need. That is why it is very effective, said Iryna Vereshchuk.

I know that this year $625 million is set aside for cash payments to our most vulnerable people. I’m asking you to keep these programs going,” said the head of the Ministry of Reintegration.
