The Crimean Tatar language will be added to the translation service using AI.

Google has announced this in its official statement.

In January 2023, the National Commission for the Crimean Tatar Language was established in Ukraine. Iryna Vereshchuk, Vice Prime Minister, is co-chairing the commission.

The National Commission’s primary objective is to safeguard the Crimean Tatar language. It also oversees the coordination of actions between central and local executive authorities on matters of institutional, organizational, and informational support for the Crimean Tatar language.

Additionally, Google highlighted that UNESCO currently classifies Crimean Tatar as a language requiring further protection.
