The government has just announced that it’s going to launch a pilot water supply project in Donetsk Oblast.
The goal is to make the permitting process for building artesian and other production wells more straightforward.
People taking part in the pilot project won’t need to get a lot of the usual construction permits and other documents to get the work done.
The objective of this streamlined approach to procedures is to accelerate the construction of artesian wells. It is crucial to avert a humanitarian crisis in the government-controlled portion of the Donetsk region, which is a consequence of damage to the water supply system due to hostile shelling.
The Ministry of Ecology is responsible for the development and coordination of the pilot project.
The project was developed and agreed upon during special meetings on humanitarian response in Donetsk Oblast, chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, who also served as the head of the Ministry.
