The government has adopted a resolution that paves the way for the implementation of a pilot project to supply liquefied gas in cylinders as humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations in the frontline areas of the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Kherson regions.
The document outlines the regulatory framework for receiving and distributing humanitarian aid through household liquefied gas, along with the requisite technological equipment provided by international donors and national oil and gas operators.
The Ministry of Energy, Reintegration, and a few other ministries and agencies developed the draft act. It was discussed at special meetings led by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
The act was created to help people in areas where military operations take place. The plan was approved on June 25, 2024.
The government’s decision aims to support those living in frontline communities, helping stabilize their lives in areas where natural gas distribution networks are absent or destroyed and where there are long power outages.
