The government has rules about moving people to safe places in case of danger.

The government adopted a resolution today to approve a model regulation on coordinating evacuations and responding to mass population displacement.

Furthermore, the document proposes amendments to the Procedure for Evacuation in Case of Threatened or Occurrence of Emergency Situations, approved by CMU Resolution No. 841 of October 30, 2013.

By the amendments, the Coordination Headquarters will serve as a provisional advisory body.

They can be set up at the state, regional, and local levels. If set up, the Coordination Headquarters is in charge of organizing and coordinating evacuations at that level.

The Coordination Headquarters also engages with commissions on evacuation, technogenic and environmental safety, and emergencies.

The objective of this cooperation is to organize evacuation measures. To this end, the commissions provide the Coordination Headquarters with proposals for the implementation of such measures.

The act was developed by the State Emergency Service and reviewed by the Coordination Headquarters for Mandatory Evacuation of the Population under Martial Law, chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

The resolution is designed to enhance and align the requirements of the existing legislation in the field of civil protection, particularly about planning, organization, and the implementation of evacuation measures.
