Iryna Vereshchuk, the Vice Prime Minister, led a meeting on humanitarian response in Kherson Oblast.

The meeting’s focus was on how to support frontline communities in the region so they can keep functioning sustainably.

They also talked about the need to let utility companies use equipment donated as humanitarian aid to provide services to the population and make a profit.

At the request of Kherson RMA representatives, the potential privatization of dormitories was discussed. A favorable decision would allow residents to receive compensation in the event of damage or destruction.

The meeting also addressed proposed amendments to Resolution No. 1073. These amendments would allow for the recycling of waste generated by damage or destruction of buildings in areas of potential or active hostilities where state electronic information resources are in use.

It is now imperative that we develop amendments to the legal acts that will enable us to act within the legal framework and address urgent issues related to the livelihoods of the frontline communities in the Kherson region,” Iryna Vereshchuk stated.
