The State Lyceum “International Ukrainian School” (IUS) is changing

The main goal of the planned changes is to stay in touch with every Ukrainian child who lives abroad.

MP Roman Hryshchuk said this at a meeting on solving problems for Ukrainian citizens abroad, which was led by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

One of the main ideas for transforming the IUS is to split it into two parts.

  1. Center for Educational Diplomacy (a structure that will manage Ukrainian educational centers outside Ukraine).
  2. It’ll also be a platform for external education and distance asynchronous learning.

We plan to add more Ukrainian centers abroad to the IUS network. These are:

– Ukrainian schools abroad.

– Ukrainian studies schools on Saturdays.

– Cultural centers.

The centers will be granted different statuses and clear criteria for obtaining the IUS partnership. They will receive methodological support, recognition by our state, and other types of assistance. This includes the provision of Ukrainian textbooks.

“To achieve this transformation, the school requires support. Let’s collaborate and initiate this process promptly,” the Vice Prime Minister emphasized.
