The event was held on August 20 under the chairmanship of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The meeting was attended by Andriy Yermak, Head of the Presidential Office; Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister; Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister; Iryna Vereshchuk, Vice Prime Minister; and other government officials.

The participants engaged in a discussion regarding the preparedness of local communities for the upcoming heating season. They also addressed the importance of ensuring the reliable operation of housing and communal services.

Specific focus was placed on alternative energy projects. These initiatives are designed to enhance community energy independence and reduce reliance on traditional energy resources.

The meeting also addressed measures to support IDPs in host communities, with a particular focus on housing and employment.

“Our objective is to facilitate the full integration of IDPs into host communities. It is essential that individuals feel secure and have the confidence to rebuild their lives in a supportive environment,” the Vice Prime Minister stated.

Furthermore, the official underscored the significance of conducting an inventory of state and municipal real estate in communities to identify potential facilities for IDPs.

We are currently conducting an inventory of all potentially suitable premises for IDPs. State and local authorities are involved in this process. Our goal is to create a fund for such housing by the end of the year. This will enable communities to promptly provide temporary housing for internally displaced persons,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
