Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk participated in the event at the invitation of the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX in Ukraine). The event will take place on August 21-22 in Kyiv.
Over the past three years, the Uniting for Action program has been working to facilitate dialogue between internally displaced persons (IDPs), host community members, the government, and the media to resolve conflicts at the local level, integrate IDPs, and develop comprehensive support plans for local and national IDP integration and stabilization of the situation in Ukraine.
A concluding event was held to present the findings and explore collaborative strategies for the future, to ensure the sustainable integration of internally displaced persons in Ukraine.
In addition, representatives from IREX, the U.S. Department of State, the Ombudsperson’s Office, and Stabilization Support Services were in attendance, bringing the total number of participants to approximately 150.
The meeting agenda includes a discussion of the results of the Uniting for Action program, grant projects aimed at supporting IDPs, advocacy activities of IDP Councils, and the experience of implementing various projects at the national and local levels.
The Vice Prime Minister highlighted the successful implementation of the program, particularly the establishment of IDP councils at the regional and local levels.
