The document is now in force. It is on the website of the National Commission for State Language Standards.

The standard will help specialists create clear and coherent curricula, textbooks, and dictionaries. It will also help organize and conduct a certification exam in Ukrainian as a foreign language.

A working group set up by the National Commission for State Language Standards prepared the draft standard. Scientists from the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine helped with the review, editing, and approval.

The Standard will help the Ukrainian language grow in the global educational, cultural, and information space. It will also help Ukrainian studies by making the Ukrainian language more popular in foreign language environments.

The issue was a regular item on the agenda of meetings held by the Ministry of Reintegration to address the problems faced by Ukrainian citizens abroad.
