Schools in frontline areas to receive financial aid from UNICEF

The Government has today adopted a resolution concerning the implementation of a joint project with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to provide financial assistance to general secondary education institutions for the 2024/25 academic year.

The draft act was developed by the Ministry of Reintegration in collaboration with the Ministry of Education as part of the implementation of the school feeding reform in Ukraine, which was initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska.

The act approves the procedure for receiving financial assistance from UNICEF by general secondary education institutions. Each institution will receive UAH 290,500 one time during 2024-2025. The total amount of the project is over UAH 100 million.

The money can be used to repair school canteens and prepare for winter.

Schools in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions can get help.
