At a briefing at the Media Center «Ukraine”, the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said that until recently, cooperation with the organization had not bring the desired results.

“First of all, we demand that the organization of the International Committee of the Red Cross adhere to its mandate – Iryna Vereshchuk explained. – This is a solution to several key issues: humanitarian corridors, the treatment of prisoners of war and civilian hostages, the missing and the dead. This is the exclusive competence of the ICRC. The Ukrainian side, as well as other organizations do not have access to this information”. 

Iryna Vereshchuk noted that we do not underestimate the importance of the assistance already provided, in particular, 500 tons of humanitarian aid. But now Ukraine needs a more decisive and effective participation of the Red Cross to save the situation, – the Deputy Prime Minister summed up.
