It is at the level of the hosting community that social adaptation and further integration of internally displaced persons should be ensured. This was emphasized by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk during a working visit to Rivne region.
The leadership of the Rivne Regional Military Administration reported that the region receives internally displaced persons every day. In particular, the region has provided shelter for orphans and children deprived of parental care who were evacuated from the hotspots of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
At the same time, the region is working on attraction donor assistance for the arrangement of new potential places of compact residence.
After providing IDPs with housing, it is important to create conditions for their employment, the head of the Ministry of Reintegration is convinced. To date, 750 IDPs have been employed in the region with the assistance of the employment service.
“We need to strengthen measures to support employment and self-employment of internally displaced persons. This is a key condition for their socialization and integration into the hosting community. After psychological adaptation, we need to focus on employment. This issue should be addressed at the regional level. In particular, local authorities should facilitate business relocation,” emphasized Iryna Vereshchuk.
We are reminding that IDP payments will be financed in the near future.
