This was announced by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk during a news telethon. She added that all issues related to the reintegration of the peninsula are very sensitive. Therefore, they must be voiced now.
“We are aware that the reintegration of Crimea will be difficult. People lived under the occupier’s boot for 9 years. Therefore, we will have to restore Ukrainian statehood there almost from scratch. But we will do it, no matter what it takes,” the official assured.
The Vice Prime Minister said that a meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine had recently taken place. The event was chaired by the head of the Presidential Administration Andriy Yermak. One of its issues was the formation of a personnel reserve, including for Crimea.
“We have created a working group. By mid-March, at the next meeting of the Congress, it should present a strategy for the formation of a personnel reserve. We are talking about training our specialists from among veterans, indigenous people and peoples of Crimea, as well as those who were forced to leave in 2014. We have almost 50 thousand such citizens. From them we are forming the necessary personnel reserve to restore our native Ukrainian Crimea,” summarized Iryna Vereshchuk.
