Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk called for this during a live broadcast at a news telethon. She added that work for IDPs will be among the priorities of the government this year. This is reported by ReInform with reference to the Ministry of Reintegration.
“If last year our priority was to evacuate and stabilize IDPs, this year our focus is on integration into hosting communities, as well as preparing for returning to their usual places of residence,” the official said.
“The winter is coming to an end, spring is coming soon. We need to work. Today, only a third of IDPs have jobs. I urge local authorities and employers to hire IDPs more actively. And I urge our IDPs to look for work more actively. Contact local authorities, employment centers, and local communities. There is always a demand for good workers. As the saying goes, busy hands will never drop (if you’re busy you won’t give up)!” summarized Iryna Vereshchuk.
