Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized this during an interview with the Suspilne TV channel.

State resources should be used as efficiently as possible. Financial support should be provided to those who really need it – people who have evacuated and become internally displaced.

At the same time, unfortunately, there are cases when citizens abuse their right to assistance, the official said.

We are talking about cases when a person evacuates by train, reaches his or her destination, receives IDP assistance and returns home again.

Another example is when a person has registered as an internally displaced person but has moved abroad. In other words, being abroad and receiving assistance there, they additionally receive money as an internally displaced person.

If a person has gone abroad, he or she cannot claim money as an IDP. The same is true when a person returns home and continues to receive assistance as an IDP. This is wrong. Relations between the state and citizens should be based on trust. Therefore, I urge Ukrainians to be conscious. Honesty is a marker of a mature society,” emphasized Iryna Vereshchuk.
