Following the meeting of the National Mine Action Authority, an action plan for demining agricultural land for sowing was approved, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.
About 470 thousand hectares of agricultural land in Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv and Cherkasy regions need to be inspected and, if necessary, demined.
Priority will be given to the regions where the problem of contamination is most urgent and the cleanup of agricultural land is most economically viable.
To implement these measures, a simplified procedure for obtaining a permit for mine action operators to carry out explosive works during demining and use explosive materials for the period of martial law has been introduced.
In addition, the National Mine Action Authority discussed the ways of informing the public about the risks associated with explosive ordnance.
It was decided to promote 10 videos on mine safety produced by the Ministry of Reintegration. The videos are to be distributed by executive authorities and the military-civilian administration through audiovisual media placed on public transport.
The distribution of relevant videos with messages of safe behavior is intended to reduce the number of incidents with explosive devices in the liberated territories that have occurred recently.
