This was discussed at an interdepartmental meeting chaired by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk on cash payments to people affected by the floods caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
Representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration, Ministry of Social Policy, Ministry of Finance, Ukrposhta, International Organization for Migration, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regional military administrations participated.
The meeting participants discussed the implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision to provide financial assistance to the residents of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions who suffered flooding due to the enemy’s explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
In particular, the residents of these regions will be able to receive one-time cash assistance in the amount of UAH 5,000 from the government and UAH 6,600 from the IOM. Among them are the people who left the flooded areas of the temporarily occupied territory of the Left Bank on June 6th for the region under Ukrainian control.
According to the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry has informed all regional military administrations and social protection departments about the possibility of receiving applications for such financial assistance. Social Security Offices have no right to refuse such applications.
