The russian government illegally placed 1184 children deported from occupied territories of Ukraine under “temporary guardianship”. This is three times more than the occupiers have publicly stated. This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda.

At the end of 2022, the Russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights, maria lvova-belova, noted that 380 children taken from Ukraine had been placed in families.

However, according to a 2022 report by the Rostov region government, 1184 children who arrived “without legal representatives from the territories of Donbass and Ukraine” were placed under temporary guardianship.

This figure may include orphans who lived in orphanages in temporarily occupied territories or who lost their parents during the war.

This data once again shows the extent of russian crimes.

Illegal placement under guardianship is a blatant crime against Ukrainian children.
