Iryna Vereshchuk: Integrating IDPs into communities is a priority for the government

Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk took part in the press conference “State Policy Support for Internally Displaced Persons”.


The event was also attended by Yulia Zhovtyak, Director of the State Employment Center, Petro Dobromilskyi, Deputy Head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, Olena Kolesnikova, Head of the Sustainable Development Committee of the Association of Employers of Ukraine, and Viktoria Zolotukhina, Executive Director of the NGO “Civil holding “GROUP OF INFLUENCE”.


“To support our IDPs, the government has adopted the Internal Displacement Strategy until 2025. The priorities are housing and employment. Employment is of paramount importance,” emphasized Iryna Vereshchuk.


The official noted that an interagency coordination center for internally displaced persons and civilian assistance coordination centers have been established in each regional military administration.  Moreover, several specific regulations on IDPs are under preparation.



In her speech, the Vice Prime Minister also thanked international partners for their support.


“Without international support, it would be difficult for us. We are very grateful to our partners for fighting with us,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
