Retail continues to be the most popular area for starting a business. In the first half of the year, more than 38,000 new sole proprietorships appeared in this area.

Computer programming, other personal services, wholesale trade, and restaurants are the next most popular.

Among the regions, Kyiv became the leader in terms of the number of newly established individual enterprises. Over 19 thousand new entrepreneurs were registered in the capital in the first half of the year.

Dnepropetrovsk and Lviv oblasts are in second and third place, with more than 10,000 individual businesses opened since the beginning of the year.
