A meeting on veterans’ policy was held under the chairmanship of Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.

Representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Veterans, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Finance, regional military administrations, and Ukrzaliznytsia attended the meeting.

By the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 652 “On the implementation of a pilot project for the introduction of the institution of a veteran’s assistant in the system of transition from military service to civilian life”, the second stage of applications for the selection of veteran’s assistants has begun.

The future assistants will be sent for training and further employment in one of the territorial communities of Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Lviv, or Mykolaiv regions.

Applications can be submitted through the e-Veteran platform. The second phase of the selection will last until July 21.

The meeting also discussed the mechanism for conducting interviews with candidates. The special commissions include representatives of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, local governments, regional military administrations, NGOs, and psychologists.

The Regional Military Administration and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs were instructed to develop a transparent algorithm for selecting participants.

In addition, they emphasized the need for proper communication between future veteran assistants and NGOs that already have experience working with veterans.
