The project includes constructing the Kakhovka hydropower station, reconstructing the Kakhovka HPP, and ensuring the sustainable operation of the Dnipro HPP during the reconstruction period.

The first phase of the pilot project includes:

– design of temporary dams in the upper and lower reaches of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, a structure for the transfer of construction and environmental costs of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, and a retaining form in the lower reaches of the Dnipro hydroelectric power station;

– construction of a support structure in the lower reaches of the Dnipro HPP.

The second phase of the pilot project, which will start after Ukraine regains control over the Kakhovka HPP, will be implemented:

– to inspect and demolish the destroyed buildings and structures of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station;

– development of the Kakhovka HPP construction project;

– construction of temporary dams on the upper and lower reaches of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.

Ukrhydroenergo, loans, and other sources will finance the project.
