The role of women in the reconstruction of Ukraine is significant. This was the theme of a special event held today by the Ukrainian Women’s Congress.
One of the event’s panels, “Key Challenges in Reconstruction,” was opened by Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk.
According to her, in times of war, all women are in their place and take responsibility. They serve in leadership positions in local government, run Coordination and Advisory Centers for Civilian Assistance, or provide psychological support to our veterans and internally displaced persons.
At the same time, it remains essential to create conditions for the return of Ukrainian women who have left the country. When they return, they want to have confidence in the future: their own and their children’s. We are talking about living conditions, education, employment, and security in general. Together we must build Ukraine’s future.
After the liberation of all our territories, the official described the mental health of the nation as the main challenge.
“We have to restore people. Because the person is at the center of reconstruction. Keeping people mentally alive is our main challenge. And our women know how to do it,” emphasized the Vice Prime Minister.
