A meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons was held.
Representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Pension Fund, regional military administrations, and other agencies and organizations took part in the meeting.
Participants in the meeting discussed payments under the “Shelter” program, which provides compensation for free temporary housing for internally displaced persons. It is paid in the amount of 450 UAH per month for the accommodation of an IDP in the warm season and 900 UAH in the cold season.
Compensation payments for March began this week. So far, 75 million UAH have been allocated for such payments to 29,000 homeowners in the Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Kherson, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy regions.
In addition, funding for compensation for sheltering IDPs in April is scheduled to begin next week.
The issue of payments to IDPs remains under special government control. This means a monthly state housing allowance of 3,000 hryvnias for people with disabilities and children and 2,000 UAH for other IDPs.
During the first and second periods of July, payments to IDPs totaling almost 6.3 billion UAH have already been financed.
