When applying for a national or international passport, you must pay an application fee. However, under certain conditions, citizens may be exempt from paying it.
The SMS explains when this is possible.
- If a passport is issued to a citizen of Ukraine for the first time, the administrative fee is not charged.
- The administrative fee (consular fee) is not paid by a person in respect of whom the fact of deprivation of personal liberty as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has been established (provided that the application for a passport is submitted within one year from the date of its release).
- Certain categories of persons may be exempted from payment by the decision of the local authorities.
