Vice Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized this at a meeting on the status of the creation of independent structural units for veterans’ policy at the Regional Military Administration and the Kyiv City Military Administration.

 

The representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Finance, the Kyiv City Military Administration, and the Regional Military Administration took part in the meeting.

 

The meeting discussed all stages and aspects of establishing such structural units. It is planned that they will operate under executive authority.

 

Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized that every veteran should know where to turn for help.

 

The participants presented the tasks of these units. Among these is the provision of social assistance to veterans and their families, as well as the implementation of budgetary programs.  Particularly in the areas of education and employment, support for veteran sports, veteran business development, etc.

 

The Vice Prime Minister ordered the creation of a unified list of comprehensive services, as veterans have individual needs. And to designate a veterans policy officer from each regional military administration.

 

Iryna Vereshchuk called for increased coordination between central and local authorities to have a common understanding of how to organize the work of such units.

 

“We need to develop a common position on effective methods of implementing veterans’ policy,” the official summarized.
