Some civil society organizations are calling on members of parliament to adopt draft law No. 9591 “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Recognition of Educational Qualifications of Persons Residing in the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Ukraine.
The human rights organization “Zmina” published the appeal.
The necessity of adopting this bill is because after 2014 our citizens in TOT will have no access to Ukrainian education. Instead, they are forced to continue their studies and receive documents from the occupier.
The draft law will introduce a mechanism for certifying the knowledge acquired in the TOT without recognizing certificates or diplomas of education. It will also provide employment opportunities and involve young people from the liberated areas in reconstruction.
The Ministry of Reintegration supports the legislative initiative and calls on parliamentarians to support adopting this bill.
