The following tips for parents were prepared as part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “How are you?” at the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.
Prepare children for school:
- Wake up and go to bed early as a family.
- Organize your clothes: put your school clothes on the shelves.
- Pack a backpack, make a badge with the child’s name, and contact information of parents, guardians, or relatives.
- Prepare a place to study.
Be safe:
- Walk to school with your child several times. Pay attention to where there are shelters along the way.
- If possible, walk inside the school. It is essential for children to “feel” the place where they will be learning. For example, visit the classrooms, canteen, etc.
- If your child will be studying online, explain his or her actions during the air raid.
Relationships with classmates:
- Organize an online meeting with them, and give them time to talk.
- Start an online group for informal communication.
